يوم حزين آخر يعيشه اللبنانيون!
في حقيقة الأمور، لقد أطلّ علينا يوم الثامن من نيسان ٢٠٢٦ بمشهد مأسوي أسود، حيث عصفت بشتّى المناطق اللّبنانيّة- بما فيها العاصمة بيروت، مدينةٌ كانت تُعْتَبَرُ قديماً «جوهرة الشرق الأوسط» – اعتداءاتٌ إسرائيليّة أسفرت عن حصيلةٍ لا تزال غير نهائيّة من الضحايا والجرحى.
كم يومٍ دمويّ سُجِّلَ عبر تاريخ لبنان خلال هذا العقد الذي كان من المفترض أن يجلب الازدهار والتطوّر والأمان؟
كم يومٍ سوف يظلّ في الذاكرة مرادفاً للجرح الذي لا يلتئم، مهما مضينا قدماً في الحياة: من يوم الرابع من آب ٢٠٢٠ المشؤوم – لمّا ضرب الانفجار مرفأ بيروت، وأودى بحياة الكثير، وخلّف الجرحى والصدمات العميقة –، وصولاً إلى يوم الثامن من نيسان ٢٠٢٦. وما الذي يخبئه لنا المستقبل؟
نحن، مواطنين كنا أم قانونيين، نطرح الأسئلة المكرّرة التي يطرحها جميع اللبنانيين:
إلى متى سيستمرُّ هذا الجنون الذي لا نهاية له؟ هل فعلاً سوف تنتهي الحرب؟ هل سننعم بالسلام يوماً ما؟
في هذا الوقت العصيب، يغدو من الأهميّة بمكان أن نضع جانباً الخلافات السياسيّة والإيديولوجيّة، لا بل كافّة النقاشات العبثيّة حول مَنْ مِن أطراف النزاع هو على حقّ أو على خطأ – ففي الوقت الحاليّ، هناك خطرٌ أكبر على المحكّ، إذ إن حياة الناس (وعلى الأخصّ النساء والأطفال) على مرمى النيران، ومجدّداً في مهبّ تحمّل عواقب الجشع وشهوة الدم.
ولهذا السبب، يجب أن نتوقّف عن إظهار الحقد والكراهيّة تجاه بعضنا البعض. صحيح أنّنا نختلف في الآراء والسياسة والدين، وأنّنا نتحدّث بلغاتٍ مختلفة، ولا نتشارك المعتقدات نفسها؛ ولكن مهما اختلفنا، فلا نزال في نهاية المطاف أبناء هذه الأرض. فمن منطلق واجبنا الإنسانيّ، لم تَعُدْ الانقسامات مفيدةً، بل نحن نحتاج إلى مزيدٍ من التضامن والتكاتف.
اللّهم افرج عن وطنكَ لبنان، الفينيق المكسور، وشعبك الذي لم يَعُدْ يتحمّل الحروب!

In bloody times, solidarity and unity are a must
Long live Lebanon, the broken phoenix
April 8th, 2026, came as yet another dark day in Lebanon’s history, when Israeli airstrikes swept recklessly across many Lebanese regions, including the capital Beirut – a city once considered “the jewel of the Middle East” –, out of which resulted a sheer number of injuries and a heavy death toll that keeps on rising as we speak
How many more bloody days have been recorded in Lebanon’s recent history, in this decade that was supposed to bring about prosperity, growth, and stability
How many more days will forever remain synonymous with tragedy, wounds that never heal, no matter how much we move on in our lives: from August 4th, 2020 – that fateful day when the explosion struck the Beirut port, then hit whole swaths of the city, claiming the lives of over 200 innocent people, injuring and traumatizing 6,500 others – up till April 8th, 2026
What does the future hold for us
As citizens and legal experts, we are among many other Lebanese to ask the same questions: is there any hope on the horizon? How far will we go with this human folly that has no end in sight? Will the war ever truly come to an end? Will we ever have peace
In these times of war and crisis, it is important to put aside political and ideological arguments, as well as all those endless debates about whom of the combatants is right or wrong, and which lead us absolutely nowhere. Right now, there are greater issues at stake: peoples’ lives – especially women and children – are at the crosshairs, having to suffer once again from greed and blood lust
For this reason, we must stop spitting anger and hate at each other solely because of divergence in opinions, politics, and religions – we may think differently, we may speak in different tongues, and we may not share the same beliefs; but different we may be, we are all human beings in the end. And so, out of duty for humanity, we no longer need more divisions – what we need is solidarity and support
May God deliver Lebanon, the broken phoenix, and its people who can no longer bear any war
